Special Event: Apply by 21 August
Young Women and Leadership Event with the Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce
LEAP into…Law is sponsoring senior female students to participate in a Q&A style event with the Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce, from 5.00-6.15pm, Thursday 10 September 2015 at Sir Zelman Cowen Centre, Victoria University, 295 Queen Street, Melbourne.
This will be an exciting opportunity for students to engage in a forum with Australia’s first female Governor-General, the Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO.
The event is part of Victoria University’s Governor-General Lecture Series. The Sir Zelman Cowen Centre hosts a unique series of lectures delivered by the current and three former Governors-General, and hosted by Adjunct Professor Nicola Roxon, Chair of the Sir Zelman Cowen Centre.
The event will be of particular interest to student leaders and those undertaking political and legal studies.
How to apply
Places are limited so to qualify for the event, we ask that students complete a short application identifying the issues they would advocate if they were Governor-General for a week, and a question they would like to ask Ms Bryce.
Students will need to complete the online application (maximum 150 words) via www.vu.edu.au/young-women-leadership by close of business Friday 21 August 2015, should they wish to attend. A selection of students will be given the opportunity to ask their questions at the Q&A and to meet Ms Bryce personally.
LEAP Travel support
Eligible students can apply for travel support to attend the event.
LEAP travel support is for students at LEAP Priority Schools only, if the cost of travel would be a barrier to their participation. It is subject to Event Organisers' prior approval of proposed travel and operates on a reimbursement basis.
